All of my jewelry is made from solid sterling silver, including the clasps. Sterling silver contains 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals. The other metal in the sterling silver that I use is copper. I am careful about my sourcing and only purchase sterling silver that does not contain nickel or other allergens or toxic metals. I purchase my sterling silver from RioGrande, a reputable jewelry supply company, and can provide the material safety sheet that they supply for their sterling silver items.
I only use natural gemstones in my jewelry. While I am careful in the selection and sourcing of my gemstones, all stones contain many elements and so should not be ingested or in any way put inside the body. I do not anticipate any issues related to the stones that I use, however it is your responsibility to use due diligence and caution when interacting with the stones.
Marketing and Shipping Materials:
All of my marketing and shipping materials are made of recycled paper products. I choose to purchase from companies who value sustainability and having a low environmental impact.
There are some basic safety guidelines to observe while using any product purchased in my store. My products are not intended to be worn around, or while operating, machinery of any kind. My products are not intended to be ingested or put in the mouth. Per one of my suppliers, children 14 years of age or younger should use these products with adult direction. I am not responsible for any illness or injury occurring directly or indirectly because of the use or ownership of any product sold in this store. By purchasing from me, you are agreeing to these terms.
Please also be aware that all of my jewelry is tumbled in a rubber tumbler barrel. There are also cats in my house and my office. If you are concerned about either, please contact me.
Returning a product purchased from my store on Etsy:
I want you to be happy with your product, so if you are not satisfied for any reason, please contact me through etsy so that we can resolve the issue. Please contact me before sending an item back. You, the customer, is responsible for the cost ofreturn shipping. If the item is not in its original condition upon return, I reserve the right to refund only part of the purchase price, depending on the amount of damage.
Returning a custom item:
The same policy as above applies, with the caveat that a 20% restocking fee will be charged unless the return is due to an error on my part or a problem with the integrity of the piece. The item must be in original condition, undamaged, or an additional fee may be charged.
If the item was purchased through Etsy, please contact me via Etsy. If the item was purchased through this website or through me directly (the transaction did not involve Etsy at all), please contact me through email using the same email that we communicated through originally.
I want your piece to last for many years to come, so if damage to the piece occurs I am happy to fix it. You are responsible for the cost of shipping it to me. The cost to me to ship it back to you is built into the fees.
There is a flat fee of $15.00 for me to look at the piece and determine what repairs need to be made.
If I determine that the piece broke due to a flaw in the design (i.e. it was due to my work that the damage occurred), there will be no charge beyond this. I will fix the piece, tumble it to clean it up, and ship it back to you.
If I determine that the piece broke due to some factor that was not the design (for example, it got caught on something or someone pulled it or crushed it), I will write up a quote for the cost to repair it. I will charge for materials and labor. You will need to approve the quote before I perform repairs. Once repairs are complete I will tumble the piece and ship it back to you. If you do not approve the repairs you will still need to pay the $15.00 and I will ship the piece back to you untouched.
All of my jewelry comes with an anti-tarnish strip inside the box. An anti-tarnish strip is paper that has been specially designed to remove tarnish causing compounds from the air before they can tarnish your piece. They will change colors when it is time to replace them. Please do not ingest or burn them. I can provide the Material Safety Data Sheet for these strips if you wish.
Cleaning sterling silver jewelry can be done in several ways. To remove substances such as lotion, oil, etc. from your jewelry, you can wash it with warm soapy water. Dish soap will help remove oil, as it is designed to fight grease.
If your jewelry gets tarnished, I recommend using a non abrasive silver polishing cloth. These cloths are specially designed to remove tarnish without scratching your jewelry. Please contact me if you have questions about where to find these cloths.
If a polishing cloth is not removing all of the tarnish, please contact me to discuss the possibility of shipping your jewelry to me to be tumbled (this is only for jewelry purchased from me). You will need to pay to ship the piece to me, and there is a $15.00 fee to cover tumbling the jewelry and shipping it back. Please contact me before sending me the piece to be tumbled so that I know to expect it. I cannot guarantee that tumbling the piece will remove all of the tarnish. I will certainly do my best to clean it as well as I can, but depending on how tarnished it was to begin with, I may not be able to bring it back to its completely untarnished state. The fee will not be refunded if I cannot remove all of the tarnish. The piece will be returned to you either way. This process could take up to a week from the time that I receive the piece. Please allow time for this and time for it to be shipped back to you if you need the piece cleaned by a certain deadline. I will not guarantee timing for this service.
